Updates For Malaysian GP - Massa for 10 place Grid Penalty… Fici to get a new engine
Mar 16th, 2006 by Haas
The Malaysian GP 2006 is right around the corner and looks like Ferrari will be caught in trouble again. Massa who had his previous race ruined by a mistake in overtaking and an unfortunate pitstop that took almost 40 sec will have a bit more bad luck… It looks like he will hv to change his engine prior to the Malaysian GP costing him 10 grid places.
Fisichella who on the other hand will also probably change is engine will not recieve such a penalty… Why???
Read em and weep… its the amendment into FIA’s the book of rules which reads:
Any driver who failed to finish the race at the first of the two Events for reasons beyond the control of the team or driver, may start the second with a different engine without a penalty being incurred.
This rule looks like something FIA learnt after a season of compicated grid demotions that eventually effected the postitions in the World Championship. As a Renault fan… Im loving it ![]()
In other news… Alonso was challenged to a racing duel by Rossi according to a local newspaper here. Alonso had commented on the multiple world superbike champions chances in F1 saying that he would probably get 5th and maybe a podium… but it would be difficult for him to win races. Rossi probably insulted by the comment challenged the current world champ to a 3 race duel involving a F1 race, Rally car Race and a Superbike race. This is something I would love to watch and enjoy but frankly, considering the heavy schedule in F1… Alonso hardly has the time for it but I hope Alonso agrees and lets see who is the better racer ![]()
PS: Im backing Alonso and Rossi to win their respective events and Rally race will prob decide the winner ![]()
